Homemade Pasta Sauce

  • Servings: 6


– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 large can crushed tomatoes
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon pepper
– 1 teaspoon coconut sugar
– 1 tablespoon basil
– 1/2 small onion (or 1 teaspoon onion powder )
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 tablespoon parsley


1. Heat a large skillet on medium heat, add oil.

2. Saute garlic and onions. Once they are browned, add tomatoes.

3. Reduce heat to low and add salt, pepper, sugar, parsley and basil. Stir to combine and let simmer for 10 minutes.

4. Enjoy!

    How big is “one large can” of diced tomatoes? Are we talking 15 ounces or 28 ounces?

    if you use tomato paste and just add water to make tomato sauce;
    or add spices you like and make great paste sauce. As the best tomato`s are used to make paste and any tomatos are used to get diced tomatos. much nicer tomato flavor from paste. and takes up less space in your stock pile and is cheaper.
